GM Blacktop

GM is a Canadian born truck driver, International singer, and award-winning songwriter who has logged nearly three million miles during his 30-year trucking career.

GM classifies himself in the unique niche of Lifestyle songwriter and performer, telling stories of real life and first-hand experience of the trucking lifestyle on the blacktop. His original lyrics and sound are reflected in his range of songs from ballads to a flare of country and rock. With the trucking and music being intertwined, his music has also been referred to as Highway Rock.

The three albums GM released, Overdrive Tracks, Real, and Still Real, are all a reflections of events and chapters in his life...each telling a story.

GM's songs have been featured on radio stations locally and internationally. His music can also be found on Spotify, YouTube, AppleMusic, iHeart, Amazon, and social media platforms.

In 2023, GM achieved a major accomplishment in being awarded the ISSA, International Singer Songwriters Association, Silver 2023 Male Songwriter of the Year award.

In 2025, GM achieved the Silver 2025 International Musician of the Year at the ISSA, International Singer Songwriters Association, Awards.

GM's single "Together We Rock", released in July 2025 was successful in select charts, holding a spot for 10 weeks in a Top 20 Country Countdown.

Along with continuing to work in the trucking industry, GM is currently writing and recording new songs to be released through 2026.
